World Wildlife Day 2021 - President of the General Assembly

The United Nations of Earth reporting on this issue: "World Wildlife Day 2021 - President of the General Assembly"
The topics: The theme of World Wildlife Day 2021 is ‘Forests and livelihoods: sustaining people and planet’. From the Redwoods of California, to the alpines of Canada, to the lush rainforests of Brazil and Indonesia, our forests are both beautiful and bountiful. They offer us rich biodiversity; They provide air that is cleaner and fresher And they are a space for recreation, for balance, and for reprieve. Today, for World Wildlife Day, a day dedicated to the flora and fauna of our world, we celebrate our forests and everything they stand for. For clean health; For personal and planetary well-being; For jobs and livelihoods; For protection; And for fun. As President of the UN General Assembly, I look forward to convening a special High-Level meeting on Land Degradation, Deforestation and Drought on May 20 th to help celebrate our forests and to address the challenges they face. I hope you will join me in making this a success. Thank you.
