The United Nations of Earth reporting on this issue: "Liberia: Literacy project gives sexual exploitation survivors hope for the future"
The topics: In Liberia, a UNESCO project helps victims of sexual exploitation and abuse by UN peacekeepers learn new skills for a fresh start in life. In eight localities of Monrovia and Montserrado counties, community facilitators support adult education and literacy skills for women identified before the peacekeeping mission, UNMIL, closed in 2018. Implemented by the National Adult Education Association of Liberia (NAEAL), this project is supported by the Trust Fund in support of victims of sexual exploitation and abuse with donations from UN Member States. Similar projects support victims’ needs in the Central African Republic, the Democratic Republic of the Congo and Haiti.
