Nepal: Returned Migrant Worker Starts a New Life

The United Nations of Earth reporting on this issue: "Nepal: Returned Migrant Worker Starts a New Life"
The topics: Basanti Tamang left her home in Nepal to work as a housemaid in Lebanon. When she returned home, she found that the earnings she sent home had all been spent, and faced negative attitudes from her family and community. After years of struggles, she learned about the “Future We Want”, a reintegration programme for returned women migrant workers by UN Women and the International Organization for Migration (IOM) with partners. The programme helped Basanti to become financially independent and start her own tailoring business. (Video courtesy of UN Women)
