The topics: Portugal has contributed to UN peace operations since the 1990s, serving in the Balkans and Timor Leste among others. Portugal currently provides over 200 personnel to four UN peace operations. Its largest contingent is deployed in the United Nations Multidimensional Integrated Stabilization Mission in the Central African Republic (MINUSCA), where Portuguese Special Forces serve as a Quick Reaction Force, helping to protect civilians and nurture a fragile peace.
