Mexico on Cuba & DPR Korea - Security Council Media Stakeout
The United Nations of Earth reporting on this issue: "Mexico on Cuba & DPR Korea - Security Council Media Stakeout"
The topics: Informal comments to the media by Marcelo Ebrard, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Mexico on the humanitarian space, Cuba & DPRK, following the Security Council, 8822nd meeting. Mexico’s Secretary of Foreign Affairs Marcelo Ebrard today (16 Jul) said, “we must make the utmost effort in conflict situations- but it is also true that humanitarian space and concerns are also linked to inequities” as well as to “the impact of sanctions imposed on countries creating crisis-like humanitarian situations, with a lot of human suffering.” Ebrard said the blockade on Cuba and other countries “where extreme sanctions are imposed, are causing serious impacts on suffering and humanitarian conditions that we should all respect.” The Mexican diplomat said, “we have a position of non-intervention all over the world. We respect each government,” announcing that Mexico is going to reopen relations with the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea (DPRK), “as with any other country.” Ebrard briefed the Security Council this morning on Protection of Civilians in Armed Conflict: Preserving Humanitarian Space.
