The Republic of Türkiye has been a consistent contributor to United Nations Peacekeeping for over 50 years. Türkiye deploys uniformed personnel to the UN Mission in South Sudan (UNMISS); the United Nations Multidimensional Integrated Stabilization Mission in Mali (MINUSMA); the UN Organization Stabilization Mission in the Democratic Republic of the Congo (MONUSCO); the UN Mission in Kosovo (UNMIK); the UN Integrated Transition Assistance Mission in Sudan (UNITAMS); and UNSOM, the United Nations Assistance Mission in Somalia. The Country’s largest deployment is to the United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon (UNIFIL) where Türkish naval personnel play a major role as part of the Maritime Task Force (MTF) protecting Lebanon’s coastline
