A decade ago, Armenia began sending troops to support the United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon (UNIFIL). Armenia previously also deployed peacekeepers to the UN Multidimensional Integrated Stabilization Mission in Mali (MINUSMA). About UN Peacekeeping -------------------------------------- United Nations Peacekeeping helps countries torn by conflict create conditions for lasting peace. The United Nations Department of Peace Operations is dedicated to assisting Member States and the Secretary-General in their efforts to maintain international peace and security. UN Peacekeepers provide security and the political and peacebuilding support to help countries make the difficult, early transition from conflict to peace.
