The 17th session of the Conference of the Parties (COP17) to the United Nations Convention to Combat Desertification (UNCCD) under the theme Restoring Land. Restoring Hope held from August 17-28, 2026, in Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia.
The conference brings together representatives of 197 Parties, international organizations, financial institutions, businesses, scientistsand civil society to accelerate action on land restoration and drought resilience.
Over the next two weeks, governments will negotiate key decisions on drought resilience, rangelands and pastoralists, sustainable agriculture and soils, resource mobilization and private-sector engagement, while working to mobilize greater investment and strengthen implementation on the ground.
