Music Amid the Rubble: A Gazan Musician Plants Seeds of Hope | United Nations

In Al-Jundi Al-Majhool Square – the once-throbbing heart of Gaza City, where national celebrations were held and flags proudly raised – music teacher Ahmed Abu Amsha now resides with his family in a tattered tent, after more than 19 months of displacement due to war. Abu Amsha founded a musical group called “GPS” (Gaza’s Peaceful Sounds), made up of displaced children with musical talents. Inside the camp, children and youth gather to play a variety of instruments under the tents—a surreal sight in a war-torn zone. Despite the complete lack of basic necessities
