As conflicts multiply around the world, civilians continue to bear the devastating human cost of war. This panel will examine what it takes to protect human rights and preserve human dignity amid the realities of modern conflict, exploring the challenges of preventing violations, protecting children and other vulnerable communities, safeguarding those documenting crises, and ensuring the timely delivery of essential humanitarian assistance. Speakers will consider what governments, international organizations, humanitarian actors, and others can do to strengthen civilian protection and uphold international human rights.
